Scholarship and Financial Aid
If you haven't done so already, please file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to see if you may qualify for financial aid opportunities. UD's school code is 003127.
As a transfer student, you are reviewed for scholarship opportunities based off your cumulative college grade point average. Scholarships awarded are renewable for up to three years if you maintain a 3.0 grade point average while at UD.
Confirming Your Enrollment
Once you've made the decision to attend UD, confirm your enrollment online. You will also select your housing preferences, meal plan, computer and pay the nonrefundable $400 deposit.
Computer Requirement
The University of Dayton requires all students to purchase a laptop through UD; however, if you already own a laptop, you can see if the specifications of your computer are compatible with UD's required computers. If you'd like to see if you can use your laptop instead of purchasing a UD computer, please e-mail your specifications to Lynn Frericks at frericlm@notes.udayton.edu:
- Manufacturer (and model if you have it)
- Processor Type (Intel, Pentium 4, Centrino technology) and speed
- Amount of RAM
- Hard Drive Size
- Does it have a wired network card?
- Does it have wireless capability? If so, is it 802.11a, b or g?
- What type of optical drive does it have? (CD, DVD, CD-RW, CD-RW/DVD, DVD-RW)
- What operating system does it have?
- What year will you be entering UD?
- What will be your major?
Course Scheduling
After your enrollment confirmation has been processed, we will send you a letter instructing you to contact your dean's office to set up an appointment to schedule classes. As a transfer student, the dean's office must register you for classes during your first semester at UD.
Orientation/Start of Term
Information will be sent in the summer describing the orientation program. As a transfer student, you do not need to participate in Virtual Orientation. This is a requirement for first-year students only. Classes for the fall term begin on Wednesday, August 20.
Need More Time?
If you like to request an extension, please contact Sharon Wright, Assistant Director of Admission/Transfer Counselor, at swright@udayton.edu. Classes tend to fill up as we approach the beginning of the semester, so we cannot always guarantee a full schedule if you wait to deposit, but we are happy to give an extension request.
