Diverse Student Populations
The family spirit is a hallmark of the University of Dayton, which was founded by the Society of Mary (Marianists). From their founder, William Joseph Chaminade, Marianists inherited a vision of the equality of human beings.
That sense of equality is also at the root of our philosophy of education. With more than 70 academic programs, UD welcomes students with widely diverse interests from a variety of backgrounds. Our students are from most states and many foreign countries, and UD is committed to helping diverse student populations attain a positive educational experience as members of our inclusive, nurturing community.
The office serves as a campus resource on multicultural issues and involves students, faculty and administrators in retaining this population. The office also facilitates a variety of campus-wide cultural celebrations, including activities during Black History Month and Hispanic Heritage Month.
