The University of Dayton offers more than 70 high-quality academic programs in four accredited divisions. An emphasis on community creates a supportive learning environment where we help each other learn and grow.
The Office of the Dean of the division to which a student has been accepted is responsible for academic advising, including evaluating previous college courses for credit, granting advanced standing and approving a class schedule each semester. For the first semester, students will select their course preferences through Virtual Orientation. In subsequent semesters, students select courses during individual meetings with their academic adviser.
Joint Admission to Medical School (JAMS)
The Joint Admission to Medical School (JAMS) Program is a collaboration between the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and the University of Dayton. Selected first-year students participate in an eight-year program resulting in a medical degree. Students who successfully earns a bachelor's degree from UD are guaranteed entrance into the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Normally, JAMS students pursue degrees in premedicine, biology or chemistry, but other majors within the College of Arts and Sciences may be adapted to the program. Visit the JAMS Web Site >>
Berry Scholars Program
The Berry Scholars Program is the University's most prestigious undergraduate program, offering a collaborative educational experience to students from all divisions of the University. Each year the Berry Scholars Program selects a maximum of 30 incoming academically gifted first-year students. Berry Scholars take a series of seminars, all of which fulfill University General Education requirements. In addition to completing the sequence of six seminars, each Berry Scholar must undertake an undergraduate Honors Thesis, fulfill an approved study abroad or cultural immersion experience, and participate in leadership and service programs.

Students of proven ability are designated as University Honors students. The University Honors Program offers curricular and extracurricular benefits, enriched courses and seminars, and the opportunity to research and complete an Honors Thesis and receive an Honors-designated diploma. Honors students meet and talk with well-known authors and artists, and take part in cultural activities and special events. At UD, technology is integrated with learning, allowing students to take an active role in their education. Electronic readings, interactive web sites, threaded discussions and virtual assessments are typical in UD courses.

Academic Advising and Registration
Students are accepted to a specific division of the University of Dayton: College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business Administration, School of Education and Allied Professions, or School of Engineering. Requests for a change of division or major prior to enrollment should be made in writing to the Director of Admission. Acceptance to another program of study is not automatic.
