Other Scholarships

National Alumni Association

If you are a first-year student and a child or grandchild of a UD graduate, you will be considered for a renewable $5,000 scholarship from the National Alumni Association. One scholarship is awarded each year, and selection criteria include financial need, outstanding academic performance, standardized test scores and service. To apply, fill out the appropriate information on the admission application or contact the Office of Financial Aid at 800-427-5029.

National Merit

National Merit Scholarships are sponsored by the University of Dayton and are awarded to National Merit Finalists who designate the University of Dayton as their school of choice. These scholarships are awarded through the procedures of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, and the value of the awards varies.

Athletics

Intercollegiate athletic scholarships are awarded each year to entering students. Contact the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at 937-229-2100.

U.S. Army R.O.T.C.

U.S. Army R.O.T.C. awards scholarships that may be used for full-time study at UD. These scholarships pay tuition and University fees, as well as a flat rate of $450 per semester for textbooks. You'll also receive an allowance of $3,000 to $5,000 each school year the scholarship is in effect. Additional Army R.O.T.C. scholarships are available for currently enrolled students. U.S. Air Force R.O.T.C.

U.S. Air Force R.O.T.C. awards scholarships that may be used at the University of Dayton. Air Force courses are taken at
Wright State University, and all other courses are taken at the University of Dayton. Contact the Air Force R.O.T.C. program at 937-775-2730.

Berry Scholarships

Berry scholarships are offered on a competitive basis to those selected into the prestigious, nationally recognized Berry Scholars Program. More information is available from the University Honors Program. Visit the Honors Program Web Site >>

Music

Music scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis following auditions with the music faculty. Contact the Department of Music at 937-229-3936.

Visual Arts

Visual arts scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. Entering students must submit a portfolio for consideration. A number of four-year scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding promise in the visual arts and who plan to pursue a degree in this field. Deacons Scholarship

If you are an undergraduate and the child, grandchild, nephew or niece of a permanent deacon of the Roman Catholic or Orthodox Church, you may receive a scholarship of up to $4,000 per year. To be considered, fill out the appropriate information on the admission application or contact the Office of Financial Aid at 800-427-5029.

Outside Donor

The University of Dayton is often contacted by companies, organizations and friends of the University to assist them in selecting recipients for scholarship awards. Selection criteria and award values vary.

Upperclass

Corporations, foundations, service groups and individual benefactors sponsor scholarships for returning students. Awards are given for academic achievement, financial need, leadership and service to the school and community while enrolled at UD.
